Food and Energy Security – Bali – IPOC 2022

The climate crisis, the supply chains bottle necks and the post Pandemic shortage, and the conflict in Ukraine are demonstrating that the King is Naked
Europe is energetically dependent on other countries, mostly former colonies. These regions are now economically and politically independent and do not necessarily need Europe.
Europe has not waken up and she has not fully realised the dramatic troubles in which she is. She is still pursuing incomprehensible policies

Palm oil is the best case study. It has been boycotted excluded for commercial and protectionist reasons. The oil palm supply chain was to be criticised but it was to be supported because Europe needs palm in food an energy.

With data I demonstrated the dependency of Europe from vegetable oils and particularly form palm oil. This is why boycotting it is stupid.
This is the summary of my talk at IPOC 2022 the annual International Palm Oil Conference organised by Gapki the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (2-3 November) in Bali, Indonesia.

READ IT: FOOD NAVIGATOR ON VEGETABLE OILS, MY REMARKS HERE >>>

  • We have reached 8 billion people on this planet.
  • 19,5 trillion K/Cal, 30% fats, 10% saturated fats.
  • About 2 trillion saturated fats to be produced everyday
  • It’s probably more considering what we lose and waste.

SO WATCH AGAIN: MY TALK IN JAKARTA ON VEGETABLE OILS AND FOOD SECURITY >>>

  • Vegetable oils are essential to produce so much energy.
  • They are even more if we think the energy we need to move things.
  • But soy oil and palm oil are being stupidly boycotted.
