This event was a unique opportunity among commodities, dedicated to discussing the European Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products (EUDR) and the sustainable palm oil supply chain.

The event began with opening remarks from H.E. Jorge Rojas Rodriguez, the Ambassador of Colombia, followed by insightful presentations from experts like Maja Slingerland of Wageningen University, who shared the latest IUCN report on vegetable oils. Nicolás Pérez Marulanda from Fedepalma provided a comprehensive overview of the Colombian palm oil sector, highlighting advancements and addressing challenges.

This meeting served as a pivotal moment for sharing ideas, experiences, and knowledge about the palm oil supply chain, aiming to improve its perception among institutions and consumers and enhance its reputation. Thanks to this initiative, which brings together key stakeholders—producer countries represented by governments and embassies in Brussels, trade associations, unions, NGOs, and national alliances for sustainable palm oil—the palm oil supply chain remains safer and more sustainable than many others.
