Europe Between Rearmament, War, and Raw Material Geopolitics
In my intervention, I highlighted that the European rearmament plan announced by Ursula von der Leyen makes sense only if backed by funding and a concrete investment strategy. However, without a common army, Europe remains an unfinished project. In this context, the difficulty in reaching an agreement with the UK highlights the lack of real cohesion.
LISTEN TO IT AGAIN: THE FAILURE OF ANTI-OBESITY POLICIES
I pointed out how the war in Ukraine was triggered by Russia’s determination to prevent the expansion of American agricultural companies into Ukrainian territories. In this scenario, Trump is attempting to negotiate with Putin, while France and the UK are opposing it, creating new tensions.

Regarding US economic policy, I expressed deep concern over the tariffs proposed by Trump, which would harm the global economy and are contested even within the US. Moreover, I reaffirmed the importance of reforming international organizations such as the UN and WHO rather than abandoning them, as public dissatisfaction with these institutions fuels support for leaders like Trump and Orban.

Finally, I emphasized that Europe must present itself as a united front in negotiations and establish a common defense and taxation system to strengthen its role on the international stage. The advent of Trump, in this sense, could serve as a necessary wake-up call for Europe, forcing it to reconsider its strategic future.
