Educating to Sustainability – Unitelma Sapienza – Pietro Paganini
University of Rome Unitelma/Sapienza and the Umbrian municipality of San Gemini held the National Conference Sustainability Education. The event was hosted in the delicious San Gemini’s Municipal Theater on 21 and 22 October as a corollary of the shared cultural partnership that aims to develop ideas and projects in the territory sustainability education.
The event – which took place in a widespread manner in the medieval village of San Gemini – has involved various companies, managers and local stakeholders to discuss the issue of achieving the objectives of the US SDGs/Agenda 2030 for sustainable development, through a vision that includes management of companies that associate the creation of value with the impact of its activities on the environment and society.

This is a summary of my talk
- EU is undertaking an outstanding challenging to foster sustainability.
- It’s a leadership role that all other countries will eventually follow.
- New EU policies must be based on science based evidences. Ideological decisions must be ignored.
- Sustainability can be achieved by employing the experimental method.
